Mario vs. Donkey Kong-e,[1] also referred to as e World,[1] is a game mode in Mario vs. Donkey Kong that uses e-Reader cards to load new levels into the game. The mode is hidden by default, but it can be enabled by connecting a second Game Boy Advance with a Game Link Cable and following the prompts that appear upon doing so. In this mode, Mario is given unlimited lives. Each level contains three presents, but these levels have no stars to earn by setting a high score. Instead, the high score for each level is initially set to 0, such that completing the level for the first time will automatically set a new high score.

Levels for this mode were designed for both the North American and Japanese releases of the game; however, only six e-Reader cards for the game were released exclusively in Japan, which are extremely rare due to their limited distribution.[2] The first Mario vs. Donkey Kong e-Reader card was given to attendees of the 20th Next Generation World Hobby Fair in June 2004.[3] The next five cards were given out as a set in an August 2004 sweepstakes by CoroCoro Comic, which serializes the Super Mario-kun manga. Only 1,000 of these sets were ever released.[4]

Levels

The first level in the list below is contained on the e-Reader card that was distributed at the 20th Next Generation World Hobby Fair. The other five levels on this list were on the cards distributed as a set in the CoroCoro Comic sweepstakes. The remaining levels designed for this mode in the Japanese version, as well as the entire mode in the North American version, are unused content.
